June 22, 2022 Sharps Compliance’s Scholarship Contest Winners Announced Sharps Compliance has announced the winners for its fall 2022 scholarship contest, which it holds twice a year. College students studying a healthcare-related field can submit an essay and application for a chance to win a $1,500, $1,000, or $750 scholarship. Each semester Sharps Compliance holds a scholarship contest for eligible students studying healthcare. Three prizes are awarded ranging from $750 to $1,500. University of North Texas The essay topic for this semester’s contest is below: The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted nursing homes and other long-term care facilities due to high mortality rates among their residents, staffing shortages, and infection control issues. Proper segregation of pharmaceutical and regulated medical wastes within these settings is highly regulated but difficult to execute during a pandemic when staff is directing their attention elsewhere.
